[Gimpo = Reporter Heo Kyubeom] The Gimpo Welfare Foundation, through a donation ceremony with Samsung Chemical Co., Ltd. for 10 million won, announced that it will actively promote community-focused social contribution projects for vulnerable groups in the northern region.
Despite ongoing difficulties since 2020, Samsung Chemical CEO Shin Eon-gi, who joined the “Sharing Relay” campaign to overcome COVID-19, said, “Donation must be sustained, and it is an investment in the value of welfare for the future together with citizens.”
Samsung Chemical, along with its continuous investments and growth, has acquired the former Pantech industrial complex, a landmark in Gimpo City, and is diversifying its business into eco-friendly household goods manufacturing and bio-healthcare. The company plans to contribute to job creation and revitalization of the local economy in the Gimpo community.
CEO Shin further stated, “The more difficult the circumstances, the more important it is to look around us. It is meaningful to have opportunities every year to share with vulnerable groups. As the saying goes, ‘It is darkest before dawn,’ I believe that if we endure together, brighter days will soon come. We will continue to do our best to fulfill our social responsibilities.”
Lee Byung-woo, Chairman of the Gimpo Welfare Foundation, added, “We will dedicate ourselves to supporting social welfare organizations and low-income children in Hasung-myeon and Tongjin-eup, creating meaningful contributions to the value of welfare.”
